Voting Tip Tuesday May 19

Click It Or Ticket: Tie your voting outreach to Click it or Ticket - Sponsor a seat belt check at school or a local community event and give smarties to those buckled up with a reminder to vote for your team or dum dums to those not buckled up with a reminder to vote for your team!

Pledge-Gram: Sell cards/messages that people can have delivered to their friends, telling them why they want them to drive safe. Include information about the contest and encourage them to visit ActOutLoud.org and vote for your project. The money you raise could be put toward a prize pool, with everyone who sends a Gram being entered into a random drawing for gift cards.

Coffee for a Cause: Visit your local coffee shops where teens hang out and ask the manager if you can put up some posters and table tents letting visitors know about Act Out Loud and encouraging them drive safe. If the coffee shop has computers, put signs up directing people to go to ActOutLoud.org to vote for your project.

Make some NOYS and get some Votes!

Hit the campaign trail to promote your video! Share links to your PSA on Facebook and Twitter, write a blog entry that asks people to vote for your video, or send an e-mail to remind friends and family they can cast their ballot once a day until May 22!

Concerts in your area this week - what about faith-based events - think creatively and ask for permission to promote voting for your team.

Good luck and make some NOYS for your Act Out Loud PSA!

More than 15,000 votes are already in!

WOW! 15,000 votes in the first two days and the votes are ROLLING in!!! Way to go teams!!! It is so cool to see the teams keep moving around - shows you are actively getting out the vote - but you know it is not just a vote - but a focus on youth traffic safety for each person you get to go online and cast a vote!

Get out the vote tips of the day - Call in to your local radio stations during their call in shows or even during your favorite DJ time slot - they may just let you give a shot out to your team for votes!

Ask large local offices to put out a notice to all staff to take time to log on and vote for your team.

Ask permission to set up computers in not only your school but neighboring school cafeterias so students and teachers can log on and vote!

Good luck and keep up the good work - Use the weekend for special events at car dealerships and other outlets with computers - to have shoppers log on and vote.

Voting Tip Day 3

Table Talk: Set up a table in your lunchroom or at the entrance of your school with posters and other promotional items letting your peers know about the contest and encouraging them to go to ActOutLoud.org to vote for your project. You can also dress up the tables in your lunch room with table tents or special placemats spreading the word about Act Out Loud and your team’s project.

2nd Day of Voting - How's it going??

Be sure to put up vote for us signs in all of the spots that offer free WiFi like coffee shops, sandwich shops, etc.

Have you made vote for us banners for all of your Facebook sites?

Have you asked national organizations to "adopt" your team and spread the voting word to their members??

Good Luck! The votes are ROLLING in!!

Can you feel it... it's almost here...

National Youth Traffic Safety Month is just days away! Hope you are working hard on your projects, getting out the word to your community press, and planning for some amazing get out the vote projects!

Your local press may be looking for that call to action - the get out the vote phase can really help draw attention to your project and communicate your safe teen driving message in an amazing way!

Have you visited your local enforcement officers and thanked them for their work to keep teens safe on the road? If not, make sure you do that next week - take them some treats and encourage them to keep up the good work!

We will be hosting a call in the next few weeks with last year's winning team so they can share get out the vote tips with you. Be sure to watch your e-mail and blogs for more information.
